Term 1 Highlights

Term 1 has been very eventful.  From sports to academic achievements, our students have been keeping busy in their school life. Here are a few exciting highlights so far!

Australian Geography Certificates

During remote learning late last year most of our Year 7-10 students participated in the online trial of the Australian Geography Competition on the Education Perfect platform. Over 73,000 students from 720 schools entered in 2021 and 20 of our students received an award and a certificate.

This was done to assist in the preparation to move the Competition online in 2022. The competition is a contest for secondary school students, assessing their geographical knowledge and skills. The competition aims to encourage student interest in geography and to reward student excellence. Well done to our students!

For Year 9s, the Year of Challenge program is about growing in their character, relationships and understanding of leading themselves and others through the four major challenges they undertake over the year – a Wilderness camp challenge, City project challenge, Community and Social service challenge, and a Physical challenge (100km bike ride).

WASP Week is always a highlight for our Year 9s. WASP Camp is a week of activities and a routine that focuses on pushing their limits, overcoming fears, learning more about themselves as well as each other, and of course, having fun. We are so grateful and very blessed that they were able to enjoy camp with lovely weather.

Primary Swimming

Students in Grades 3-6 have been enjoying the swimming program. On Water Safety Day, students learned about ways to keep themselves and others safe in the water during dangerous situations. It was a valuable and insightful day! Here are our Grade 5s in their swimming lesson.

Beach Clean Up

Students from E School are learning about how they can make a difference in their community! They attended our first student-led project at Mordialloc Beach to participate in Clean Up Australia Day. Our VCAL students also came out to run a sausage sizzle for everyone. It was an awesome day and the rain didn’t fall until the very end of the excursion.
