Assessment and feedback are critical factors in any childs and adults’ learning journey.
Students at Heatherton receive regular feedback and opportunities to reflect on their progress, quality of work, skill development and results. Feedback may come from teachers and peers and is all aimed to assist in students becoming better learners and be able to produce higher quality work.
Assessment is both formative and summative – with students and parents receiving regular assessment feedback and results though our Progressive Online Reporting model, sent out via Compass, our online learning management system. This feedback enables students to apply their learning and achieve improved learning outcomes. Students and parents still receive an end of semester report but there are no surprises in this as they have been kept informed along the way through the Progressive Online Reporting.
Parents are welcome to contact teachers with any concerns and also have formal Parent / Teacher information meetings at the end of Term 1 and 3.
