Parent Resources

We listed information below that will help you with various aspects of life at Heatherton.

Operoo is our electronic student health management system.

Operoo offers an electronic version of the paper based forms that are required for school excursions, camps and enrolments. It provides parents with the opportunity to update medical information promptly and accurately while providing the school with instant access to emergency information. Such information might include emergency contacts, medical checklists for asthma and allergies, and insurance details.

Parents may choose to download the Operoo app to promptly update details and reduce the burden of having to fill out the same information on multiple forms throughout the year.

The information is for school use only and will be accessible by the relevant staff for the purpose of providing necessary medical care in the event a child becomes ill or injured while under the care of the school.

COMPASS is our online school information system and acts as the primary means of communication between the College and home.

Once their child commences at HCC, parents will be able to log into COMPASS by setting up their own Parent Portal. This will allow access to information such as:

  • Student attendance
  • Work tasks and results
  • Current College news
  • The College calendar and booking parent/teacher interviews

The Parent Portal is also the primary means by which the College office sends emails home to parents.

Information on how to set up your Parent Portal will be provided in a letter to you your child will bring home. Please use these individual details to login to Compass via the link below. https://heathertonchristiancollege-vic.compass.education

It is essential that you follow the instructions on the initial login page when logging in for the first time.

COMPASS can also be accessed on smartphones or tablets via the COMPASS School Manager App which can be downloaded from the App Store / Google Play Store once the Parent Portal is established.

If you require any assistance or further information, please do not hesitate to contact the College office on 03 8551 6650 or via email at office@hcc.vic.edu.au.

Term 1:

 Monday 31 January – Friday 8 April

Term 2:Tuesday 26 April – Friday 24 June
Term 3:Wednesday 13 July – Friday 16 September
Term 4:Tuesday 4 October – Tuesday 6 December

School community working  bees are held once a term on a Saturday morning from 8:30am – 11:00am.

We request for families to commit to 2 working bees per year. We rely on working bees to complete minor maintenance jobs around the school such as gardening, painting and spring cleaning the classrooms. Without working bees we would need to charge more in school fees so we are relying on every family to contribute twice a year. Working bees are a great opportunity to meet new families, and at the same time give something back to the school. We always provide a morning tea to help fuel the hungry workers!

Working bee dates for the year are always included in the fortnightly newsletter.

To be determined.
