The Pastoral care structure and wellbeing programs provide support for students to grow in their social / emotional awareness and capacity, as well as live this out in their relationships with others. Positive relationships with the adults in their lives are key to this, and all teachers are intentional in building positive and effective relationships with students and parents.
We have morning homeroom and assemblies with students, all with a Christian devotion and prayer. Our Primary students have a weekly “Synergy” class while our Secondary’s have a “Healthy Choices” class. We also teach and respond to age appropriate issues as well as teach and work from our Heatherton “High 5” resilience program. Furthermore, our student behaviour management system is based on restorative justice principles whilst applying appropriate consequences. We also have a Wellbeing week and year level camps which provide further opportunities to reinforce and live out the values and principles we teach.
Our Wellbeing team consists of our Head of Student Wellbeing and our College male and female Chaplains, who work closely with our Heads of Sub School, our teaching staff and College Senior Leadership staff to ensure that the health and wellbeing of individuals and groups is positively developed. Issues that arise are promptly worked through and we partner with parents and outside professionals as necessary in finding solutions.
